Today I worked out for about an hour at the gym. I feel really good because I am beginning to have so much more energy. I am eating more throughout the day, but better foods and smaller portions. This has really been a challenge due to my busy schedule. I am sure this will be easier as it becomes routine.

Today I took spinning with Joe. It was a great class that pushed me to work to my potential. I feel ready to take on the day. I will definately try to make the class every Thursday morning.

Very busy day today. It took a lot of motivation to get to the gym because I was so tired. I found my inner strength that pushed me to go. I'm glad I did.

I have been having a lack of sleep these last couple of days and decided to sleep in today. I felt great when I worked out in the afternoon. Sometimes you need to go at different times during the day in order to have it fit into you schedule and what your body needs.

Although I only had an hour to work out today, I really felt that I used my time productively. I worked on legs and did 20 minutes of cardio.

Monday, April 7th

Well, it has been a week since the challenge started and I am so proud of myself for getting to the gym every day. Joe's seminar was so motivational and inspirational. I was so caught up on "losing weight" that I didn't think about how good I feel and how my clothes are starting to fit better. Now I know what really matters.

Once againg I was extremely tired this morning, but I pushed myself to go to the gym. Once I got there I felt much better. I know that whenever I don't feel like going, I need to dig down deep into my motivation and just get to the gym.

I went to the gym and a nutrition seminar today. I learned what to look for in deli meats and about how to prepare items for the week ahead of time. This is good advice that I will be implementing into my schedule starting Sunday.

Thursday, April 10th

Spinning was great today. At the beginning of the class I felt like I would not be able to finish. I pushed myself harder and made it through. I feel great that I accomplished this task. I will definately challenge myself with this class every week.

Another busy day-Clyde's birthday, Derek's bank spaghetti dinner. I'm exhausted. I did find the time to go to the gym. I had to wake up early to do so. I am glad that I did.

Joe's seminar today was very motivational. It is good to know that I am not just working out, I'm changing my life. He really cares about helping people not only succeed at their fitness goals, but life goals as well. I am so happy to be a part of this challenge.

This is the final day to earn points in the first cut. I worked on lower body today. Hopefully I make it to proceed in the contest. I am very anxious to see the results. I am also going to attend the last seminar tonight.

I worked on upper body today. I left feeling like I was going to be sore, but I drank a lot of water with lemon, and I feel fine. I also made sure that I ate enough protein.

I only had 50 minutes today because I forgot the club was only open until 2. I still feel that I had a great workout. I focused on upper body today. I had a hard time lifting things once I got home. I guess that is a good sign that I am working out hard enough.

Boy was I sore today! Every part to my body hurt. I still pushed myself to work on my lower body and after a little while I didn't hurt as bad. Hopefully I will feel good tomorrow.

I signed up for the final weigh in for the challenge. I can't believe it is almost over. I am extremely happy with my results and even if I do not make the final cuts, I know I will continue with my own challenge.

I went to the movies tonight and only had 2 small handfuls of popcorn. I brought some trail mix to snack on instead of junk. I am starting to feel like I am in control of my cravings. I can stop when I want to.

I am so glad that I made it in the final 8. It is such an honor to be chosen among 40 contestants. I am also very excited to see the new gym. I signed up for the Griffin 4 mile walk on Sunday. I hope it is fun.

I woke up with a cold today and did not feel like moving. I pushed myself to go to the gym and after spinning I felt a lot better. I hope I feel good for the 4 mile walk tomorrow.

Worked on legs today. My legs are still tired from the walk on Sunday. I am so tired this week because of all the last minute studying that I had to nap today. I'll probably not want to go to bed tonight.

I have a friend's birthday party tonight, and I know there be lots of food there. I am eating small before I go so that I won't be tempted to overeat on junk food. I am glad that I am starting to plan ahead when faced with these issues. My whole mentality of eating has changed.

Worked out for a little while today. I either pulled a muscle in my leg or had problems with my sciatic nerve. I finished my workout by doing upper body.

I feel like I need to step up my workout routines, or start going twice a day. I am not losing as much weight as when I started. I think my body is getting used to exercise and this routine.

It feels so good to be home and back into my routine of working out. I really worked hard to keep working out while in Croatia. Besides all the walking, I did some basic exercises that I learned from the gym. I am pretty upset that I wasn't able to blog the whole time. It was hard to find computers at certain hotels.

While on my trip my house got broken into and one of the things that was taken was my computer. I am having a hard time blogging and finding a computer to use until I get a new one. I took spinning with Joe today. It really helped my mood and relieve some stress.

I am not used to my summer schedule yet. I am used to getting up early in the morning and going to bed early, now I get to bed late and wake up later because of my work schedule. I feel less productive during the day. I'm sure by next week I will be back on track.

I took spinning again today. It was a good workout, but very hot in the gym. I have to work tonight and finish some laundry today. Overall, I feel pretty good today. I woke up with lower back pain and am trying not to aggravate the situation.

I drove from camping to attend spinning at 7am. It was a great workout. I brought healthy foods camping and made turkey and ground sirloin burgers with whole grain buns. The kids ate it and did not complain, so they must have liked them. I also brought stuff to make sandwiches and lots of fruit.

Worked on upper body today. I did a 10 minute "killer cardio" on the upright bike. I did not think I would be able to finish it, but I am glad that I did. I am very nervous for the competition tomorrow.

I tried getting to the gym early today but got caught up doing laundry and other housework. It was hard to make it to the gym because I wanted to finish what I started at home. I had to work at 4pm. I did get about an hour to work on upper body.

I cannot believe this month is almost over. Where does the time go? I have another birthday party tonight at 4pm. There is never a day to relax! I worked on core/cardio today with Jeff. I will probably be sore in 2 days. I never feel my ab soreness right away like I do other parts of my body. I wonder why.

I worked out on upper body today with Becky. I also came in to help decorate the float for the parade, but was told that the decorating was changed to tomorrow because the float would not fit. I am going out of town tonight and cannot help or be in the parade tomorrow.

I spent the day off by picking up the kids from a sleep over, and then took them to a friend's house to swim and hang out. We had a lot of fun relaxing and doing a bunch of nothing but laying around a pool all day.

I worked on upper body and core today. We are going to a birthday party at an indoor waterpark in Gurnee. The kids are excited.

We had a fun weekend at the waterpark. Today we got our new puppy and I did not make it to the gym. I am planning on working out tomorrow morning.

I am so tired and did not sleep well with the new puppy. I forgot how much work it is to have a little one. I have to work tonight and will try to get to the gym after work if there is time.

I have the day off of work and have to take the puppy to the vet at 2pm. I am interested in taking one of the classes tonight. There are quite a few new classes added.

I took the cardio conditioning class with Lisa at 4:30 last night. That was a great workout. I almost felt like I could not finish it. I am sore all over today. I am planning on doing some light cardio today.

I did not make it to the gym today because I hosted a jewelry party and was busy cleaning and setting up. The last people just left and it is almost midnight. I am going to sleep in tomorrow.

I waited for Clyde to get home and by the time he got home we were unable to make it because I forgot about summer hours. I am upset that I missed yesterday, but am going after football equipment handout.

Today was the first spinning class that I have taken in a couple of weeks. It felt good to get back into the groove. I plan on going to more this week.

I woke up and went to spin class this morning. It ran for an hour and a half. I was so tired by the end. I feel much better now that I am back into the groove of spinning. I am glad they added more classes to fit my hectic schedule.

I completely agree with you Angela. I am sad to see it all go but at the same time, it has been stressful. Good for us, but stressful. I know I will never go back to my old self but it will have to be on my own terms now. I would love to stay with Lifestage so I may be getting back into tutoring after school! Have a great evening.

I had a migrane again today. It stopped me from going to the gym yesterday, but I forced myself to go today. I could only do 30 minutes on the eliptical, but it is better than nothing.

I have not been feeling very motivated these last couple of day. Yesterday I had clinical orientation all day and realized how much work there is this semester. I feel completely overwhelmed with school, home, work, and the kids. I know that I will be able to do it, but I just don't know how. I am planning on going to the gym tonight while my son is at football practice. I have not had any time this past week to myself.

I took spinning with Lisa this evening. It was a pretty intense class. Now that I started school this week I realize how hard it is going to be to fit the gym into my schedule. The only time I had yesterday was between 2-3, but the gym was closed. I do not like that they closed the gym during that time because it is when I get home from school and have free time before the kids get home. I guess they just weren't busy during those hours.
